The NPIP system offers several features to better the conditions of the in-prison wards and reduce challenges faced by their relatives. 

• Instant Visit Request:

Visiting your in-prison wards is much easier now with advance requests through this portal. 

• Dashboard Reports:

The dashboard shows information such as prison population, visits, and many others, 

• ePrison Canteen:

You can offer financial support to the in-prison wards by purchasing items that are produced by them while in prison.  

• KIOSK Information:

The wards can get information related to them through the kiosks. 

• Grievances:

If your in-prison ward has got some grievances, you can lodge them easily through the portal. 

• Legal Aid: 

The portal has also simplified the legal procedures. 

eMulakat Registration Process 2024

The most important feature of this portal is to register advance visits. Here is the procedure that you can use to register your visit with your in-prison ward.

Step – 1 – Visit the official portal through https://eprisons.nic.in/NPIP/public/Home and click on 

eMulakat.

Step – 2 – Fill out the form with all the necessary details.

Step – 3 – Select whether you wish to visit physically or through video call.

Step – 4 – Submit your form and enter the OTP on the next screen.

Step – 5 – You will receive confirmation email in which you will also get a link through which you can connect the ward through video, if you have selected so. 

eMulakat Status 2024

Once you have registered for eMulakat, you can check the status through this simple method. 

Step – 1 – Go to the official portal and click on eMulakat Status.

Step – 2 – Here, enter the registration number that you must have received through email.

Step – 3 – Now enter the captcha code and search for the status. 

Video Call Start after NPIP Registration

Once you have completed the registration process and you have received the confirmation email, here is the way how you can connect your ward through video. 

Step – 1 – Copy the link that you have received in your confirmation email and paste it on Google browser.

Step – 2 – Follow the displayed instructions to install the video software.

Step – 3 – Once the software is installed and opens up, enter your name and click on Join. 

Step – 4 – Next, enter the PIN that you must have received in your email on the exact day and time allotted to you.

Step – 5 – Wait for some time and the ward will join the video call soon. 

NPIP Grievance

Another essential feature of the portal is that the relatives can register grievances on behalf of their respective in-prison wards. You can register a grievance through this method. 

Step – 1 – On the official portal, click on Grievance.

Step – 2 – On the grievance page, first register your details.

Step – 3 – Enter the details on the Grievance side.

Step – 4 – type the captcha code carefully and send the Grievance.
